BYE BYE BRAXTON
(PRETERM BIRTH SYMPTOMS)

Also, use this protocol for the following:
Threatened Miscarriage
(any type of spotting or bleeding during pregnancy)
Placenta Previa

DISCLAIMER
Preterm birth symptoms are high-risk and medical care by birth professionals should be recommended immediately.
This tuning fork protocol was designed to be used as complimentary care.
It is most effective when used ASAP as soon as light symptoms are sensed.
Once preterm labor is fully active it can be very hard to slow or stop.

WARNING
Contractions can be unpredictable so anytime you are using tuning forks with them, check-in frequently with the client to see how the contractions are responding. If they're not responding in the intended manner, try switching tuning forks (using another frequency) or simply stop working. Be humble enough to stop if you're not getting results. That being said, this protocol has been used many times with SuperFrqs birth clients and it usually works as intended. Especially when the client does their part following the session (rest, nourishment and hydration).

INSTRUCTIONS
Follow the steps below for safely using this protocol.
Remember, less is more. Use gentle tuning fork strikes.

Step 1
Strike the tuning fork in the same room as the client and hold it in your hand.
Ask client if they felt anything (sometimes contractions respond to a tuning fork being struck just nearby in the room with them.)
If contractions intensify, then change frequencies and repeat the test OR stop and do not use this protocol.
If no response, go ahead and begin.

Step 2
Strike tuning fork and simply point at the acupressure points.
Check in again. Ask client if they felt anything.
If contractions intensify, then change frequencies and repeat test OR stop and do not use this protocol.
If no response, continue.

Step 3
Place stem of tuning fork on the acupressure points in the chart below.
1-2 Reps each point.
End with moving tuning forks upward along each leg (outer and inner). You only need to do this once.

Step 4
Final check in.
Did contractions lessen? Does client feel calmer?
If so, good job.
If not, consider repeating with another frequency.
If condition worsened, stop.

DEEPEN UNDERSTANDING

What are preterm labor symptoms?
A pregnancy is full term at 37 weeks (some argue 36 weeks). If someone goes into labor prior to that it is considered preterm labor and the babies birthed are considered premature. Preterm labor symptoms are contractions or cramping that start earlier than 36 weeks of pregnancy.  Sometimes these contractions are referred to as Braxton Hicks contractions, false contractions or menstrual-like cramping sensations. I'll use every one of these terms when checking in with a client because sometimes they don't realize they are experiencing these. (For the most part, we've been taught to ignore our menstrual cramps and during pregnancy this works against us because a birthing person might not even realize they are having preterm labor symptoms. Cramps are contractions. Contractions are cramps. Braxton Hicks contractions are contractions. It's as simple as that. Sometimes contractions start and then stop again (this is what they call a Braxton Hicks, false contractions or false labor). But the contraction itself is the same. People give birth preterm all the time because they dismissed the early contractions as Braxton Hicks and something that is normal and shouldn't be addressed. My approach, any type of contracting or cramping prior to 36 weeks of pregnancy should be acted upon, discouraged, given attention to.
Note: Some of these symptoms overlap with other high risk symptoms which is why medical check up should always be sought out in addition to natural remedies.

What are Braxton Hicks contractions?
Braxton Hicks contractions are no different than regular labor contractions. The only difference is they don't turn into full blown labor and birth. They start and stop again. Also called false contractions or false labor. The differentiation is most useful for birth providers and for knowing when to head to the hospital and birth center. Am I really in active labor or not is the differentiation.
fun fact: the Sugar Heal Midwife Raquel calls them "toni braxtons" lol.

What is preterm labor?
Labor that begins prior to 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Why should it be slowed or stopped if possible?
Because babies born too soon aren't fully developed (usually their

What do doctors do for preterm labor symptoms?

What do midwives do for preterm labor symptoms?
Many of the midwives I've worked with recommend hydration (spring water), magnesium packets, chlorophyll drops and/or rest. They might also tell someone to time the frequency of the contractions and if they become steady enough to go to the emergency room.
In California, midwives and birth centers can only attend babies born between 37 and 42 weeks so clients who go into labor prior to
that are sent to the hospital.

Variations

Picture
The Full Moon frequency (white) is energizing as well as hydrating so this can be a good option if the main imbalance is dehydration.
Picture
Ohm (the gold one) is very calming and centering so this can be a good option if the main imbalance is fear, anxiety or scattered energy.
Picture
Ohm (gold) and Zodiac (purple) combo clears and releases so this can be a good option if the main imbalance is infection.
